Greg Rush

Founder and Managing Partner

​Greg Rush established Scarp Ridge Capital Partners LLC (“SRC”) in 2021 to focus on distressed, value-add and opportunistic real estate investments across the United States.  SRC is focused on deploying capital into structured investment opportunities and acquiring or recapitalizing assets with a focus on hospitality and senior housing where the company has an extensive track record and deep strategic relationships. Mr. Rush started the business through a predecessor entity, Rush Capital Partners LLC (“RCP”), by establishing an exclusive relationship with a $36 billion global investment manager to source and execute the best risk-adjusted real estate investments including structured debt, preferred equity and equity investments on behalf of their various investment vehicles, and has since expanded SRC’s universe of capital partners to include private equity, hedge funds, family offices and high-net-worth investors.​

​Greg’s prior experience includes Cadre where he was a Partner, Managing Director and member of the Management and Investment Committees, a data and technology driven real estate investment management platform backed by some of the leading venture capital firms in the industry. Mr. Rush led the investments team and co-headed the acquisitions efforts. During that time, Cadre increased its AUM by 4x and invested roughly $600mm of equity and $1.5B of total transaction value into value-add multifamily, office and hotel investments. Greg was also a Partner, Managing Director and member of the Investment Committee at Dune Real Estate Partners (“Dune”) where he spent 11 years. Greg was responsible for sourcing, executing and managing an investment portfolio which included distressed, value-add, opportunistic, and contrarian investments across multiple asset classes in the United States and Europe.  His investing experience includes investments in existing, ground-up and redevelopments including the repositioning of mixed-use projects, hotels, retail, office and residential real estate including single-family land. Prior to that, Greg was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, and held roles at Merrill Lynch and Vornado.​

​Mr. Rush has been involved in structuring and executing over $60 billion of real estate and real estate-related investment, advisory and capital markets transactions.​

​Prior to its sale to Colony Financial, Greg served on the Board of the Directors of NorthStar Realty Finance Corp. (NYSE:NRF), a publicly-traded, diversified commercial real estate company that was organized as a REIT. Greg also served on the Board of McArthurGlen Europe, the premier developer-owner-operator of designer outlet shopping centers in Europe.​

​Mr. Rush is a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute and is the Chair for the Urban Development and Mixed-Use Council (Green Flight).  Mr. Rush sits on the Board of Trustees for the Children’s Medical Fund of NY.​

​Mr. Rush holds an M.B.A. (with Distinction) from the Leonard Stern School of Business at New York University and holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.​

​Mr. Rush resides on Long Island with his wife Jeanine Morris-Rush, an OB/GYN in private practice, and has four children. He enjoys coaching youth soccer, running, ice hockey, hiking and back country skiing.
