Kari Schmidt
Managing Director
Kari Schmidt joined SRC as a Managing Director in 2021 after 23 years at Brookdale Senior Living, a firm which she joined when the company operated just 16 communities. After several promotions at the company, Ms. Schmidt ultimately served as Division President, with responsibility for over $1 billion in revenue across 300+ communities. Ms. Schmidt has operated in and lead teams in 36 states. While at Brookdale, she also served as Regional Director of Operations for Eby Development and Management where she was responsible for expanding their new assisted living and memory care products into Midwestern markets.
In 2018, Ms. Schmidt took on the role of Senior Vice President, Community & Field Support. In this role, she supported multiple functions across the company including Independent Living, Brookdale innovation, skilled nursing, business development and post-acute integration, and financial training and labor management in addition to the company’s Transformational Asset Division, which included 85 assets across the country. Partnering closely with Support Services, Legal, IT, Asset Management and Procurement, Ms. Schmidt also served as product line representative for Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing.
Ms. Schmidt earned a Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from The Wichita State University, where she attended on a full athletic scholarship.
